Blog Resurrection

After blogging for some eighteen months, I have dropped the ball with my blog writing for various reasons. One of my challenges for 2011 was to develop my PLN through the Edublogger Teacher Challenge, however I found a few other challenges that were related to changes to Joomla from 1.5 to 1.6 and now 1.7 which has placed a steep learning curve both in terms of time and priorities. Since then I’ve learned how to use WordPress as a content management system to run websites including changing this site over from Joomla to WordPress. There have also been other challenges associated with family life with a move overseas and back to Australia and a start at a new school. Maybe things are meant to happen for a reason.

The impetus for my blog’s resurrection has been twofold. Firstly, the Flat Classroom Teacher Certification course I am currently doing and the work of two excellent educators, Vicki Davis and Julie Lindsay. I have been following their work from the wings for almost three years. The secondary impetus stems from the working more closely with teachers and students to help embed ICT into teaching and learning at my school. My school is innovative and creative in its approach to teaching students and I am excited about the prospect of being part of an innovative environment.

This is my resurrected blog.
